Exodus 26:2 · measurement explained
A 28 × 4 cubit tabernacle curtain
Each of the matching tabernacle curtains is assigned the same length and width, allowing the woven panels to form a coordinated covering.
Read the verse first
The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits: all the curtains shall have one measure.

Modern measurement range
Length: twenty-eight cubits
12.32–12.88 m
40.42–42.26 ft
Using the common cubit estimate. This range is for the ordinary cubit. Texts that specify a cubit plus a handbreadth use the separate long-cubit setting.
Calculate another amount →Width: four cubits
1.76–1.84 m
5.77–6.04 ft
Using the common cubit estimate. This range is for the ordinary cubit. Texts that specify a cubit plus a handbreadth use the separate long-cubit setting.
Calculate another amount →The conversion visualizes one panel, not the dimensions of the fully joined structure or allowances for seams and overlap.
What this conversion does—and does not—show
It gives a defensible modern scale for the amount stated in the verse. Ancient standards varied by time and place, so the endpoints are deliberately approximate. A volume is not a food mass, a metal weight is not a modern cash value, and a conversion does not settle a textual, archaeological, or theological debate.
